About Us

Established by artists Shaun Fagan and Phillippa Henley in 2024, Rùda is a collaborative creative practice, gallery and studio in the village of St Boswells, in the Scottish Borders. The gallery exhibits their own work in sculpture, textiles and printmaking, alongside exhibitions from visiting artists and a curated range of art materials, homeware and gifts.

The studio will follow and will be a space for making, research and home to a yearly programme of workshops and classes.

Common Ground

Browns of Leith

September 19th & 20th

We are bringing Rùda to Edinburgh for Common Ground this September 19th & 20th, at Browns of Leith. Hosted by Dōr. founder Jack Blackwell, Common Ground brings together independent names from Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders for a weekend of music, art, design & great company.

Jack will be bringing a curated collection of new season pieces and design led homeware from the shelves of Dōr. in Kelso. Rùda will be showing sculptural work alongside a small selection of studio materials. Drinks come from the talented team behind Haze and Woven Whisky will be pouring their expertly blended whisky if you fancy a dram. If that wasn't enough to wet your whistle, music will be provided by Atsuhsi Hasewaga, DJ and Head of Creative at The Newt in Somerset. Atsushi brings his unique style and sound to the evening, playing archival 7” records from his time in Paris & Japan.

"Sculptor, textile artist, and co-founder of Rùda Studio - Phillippa Henley - shares the story of building a gallery from a derelict shell in a tiny Scottish village, why analogue making matters more than ever, and how her journals have been with her every step of the way."
